Volunteers often assist with box office, support administrative needs for staff, assist with special events and more. Prospective volunteers should be passionate about art, enjoy interacting with the public and ready to learn.
There are many opportunities for you to contribute to Intersection and its programs by becoming a volunteer. Intersection's diverse multi-disciplinary programming provides invaluable exposure volunteers. Please look through the following Job Descriptions carefully and make note of the positions that interest you. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
Front of House/Usher Front of house volunteers greet audiences, members, assists with seating, handle the box office and reservations and track audiences. Front of house Volunteers also set up the lobby for each event. The hours depend on the production/event, but are usually evenings and weekends.
Administrative/Office Work Administrative and office volunteers and interns help with data entry and database maintenance; sorting, stamping, and labeling mailings; filing and archiving; and reception. The Intersection office is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM every weekday. Volunteer hours are flexible within this schedule. Some projects can be done at home.
Technical Assistant Intersection is a multi-disciplinary art space, rather than a traditionalntheater. We do not have set building, costume, props or scene painting departments. We have a resident theater company, Campo Santo and a resident dance company, Erika Shuch Performance Project. All of these people use our space, lighting grid, instruments, control boards, and booth. The Technical Intern assists the Technical Director and resident company with lighting design, hang and focus; load-in and strike; and technical aspects of sound projects. The hours are flexible and depend on the production, but are usually evening and weekends.
Special Event Volunteer Intersection is an extremely active space, we host an array of special events including art and theatre openings, special preview evenings, events of site and of course our Annual Benefit Event. Event volunteer opportunities are open year-round, volunteers will be contacted when events are scheduled.
